Adrenal fatigue and anxiety

Stress hormone (cortisol) is produced and controlled by the adrenals. Chronic stress leads to adrenal fatigue. When your body and mind are under stress, your adrenals will increase cortisol production.

Because of long-term stress, adrenal fatigue occurs. If the body is exposed under prolonged stress, the adrenal cortisol is continuously released. This causes the stress response and the amount of cortisol production to become irregular. Besides, problems in your mood will emerge.

Some factors also cause adrenal fatigue, which includes:

  • Lack of sleep
  • hard works
  • Emotional problems

The symptoms of adrenal fatigue include low energy, overweight, difficulty in sleeping, depression and anxiety. Therefore, with long-term observation of such symptoms, it is best to refer to a doctor for adrenal fatigue testing.

But maybe no test can detect adrenal fatigue. It is commonly known by investigation of symptoms.  Stress management is one of the best treatments for adrenal fatigue.

 

Some treatments and solutions

One of the problems with adrenal fatigue and anxiety is the difficulty in sleeping. To balance cortisol, it’s important to have a good quality of sleep. The best solution is to have a deep sleep and sleep at least eight hours.

One of the best treatments for adrenal fatigue is having a healthy diet. Reduce or eliminate the use of sugar and refined carbohydrates and alcohol. Instead of them, you can replace healthy fats and antioxidant-rich vegetables.

It is also beneficial to use supplements that include vitamins and minerals. Some of these supplements include vitamins B5, B6 and B12, and vitamin C and magnesium.

Drinking coffee to eliminate adrenal fatigue is a misconception. Coffee causes a sharp increase in cortisol. Increased cortisol levels are not useful for adrenal fatigue. It is recommended to drink coffee only in the morning. For the rest of the day, especially when dealing with adrenal fatigue, avoid drinking it.

Meditation is one of the strongest ways to cope with stress and have flexibility and balance. It is therefore suitable for improving cortisol levels and adrenal fatigue treatment. If you are new to this area, it’s better to start slowly with 5 minutes a day. Then, gradually increase the exercises.
